Partners and collaborations

As a Faculty that is jointly managed by two parent universities, partnership working has become central to our way of thinking.

Strategic partnerships

SouthWest London Academic Network

Established in 2007, the SouthWest London Academic Network is an innovative alliance between Kingston University, Royal Holloway and St George's, University of London. Focusing primarily on the health, social care, biomedical and life sciences, the network exists to enhance teaching and research opportunities for staff and students locally, nationally and internationally. The network links closely with employers and professional organisations to offer a wide range of flexible and innovative courses, consultancy and research expertise.

Interprofessional Institute (Health & Social Care)

Within the SouthWest London Academic Network, we are closely involved with the development of the Interprofessional Institute (Health & Social Care), which aims to establish:

  • An international and regional centre of excellence for interprofessional research, practice and learning
  • New pathways for learning and new roles in health and social care, from foundation degree to taught doctorates
  • Interprofessional research, development and consultancy.

Employer partnerships

Our partnerships with education commissioners such as NHS LondonOpens new window, and with a wide range of local employers, are vital to the success of our practice-based courses by providing student placements in a variety of highly-regarded health and social care environments and facilitating learning in the workplace.

In addition, joint academic/professional staff appointments bring clinical and practice expertise into the Faculty, while also bringing about positive changes in health and social care practice by transferring knowledge through educational and research-led initiatives.

Further education colleges

Our progression agreements with local further education colleges provide opportunities, through access courses, for local people to pursue training pathways in health and social care.

Other collaborations

In our research and enterprise activities, we work with partners from a variety of disciplines, sectors and centres both nationally and internationally. Some examples are presented in Enterprise: current projects.
