Tickets Tickets It might seem a bit strange that you have to get tickets to your own graduation, but we need to know numbers to ensure there’s enough space and facilities for everyone who wants to attend. Your ticket is free, tickets for family and friends are not. You must respond to your invitation to let us know if you are attending or not. Guest tickets will need to be purchased directly from the Royal Festival Hall. Details of how to book guest tickets will be included in your graduate ticket confirmation email. You can choose your preferred delivery method for your guest tickets when you order them. Graduate tickets will be available to collect on your graduation day. You must book your graduate and guest tickets by Thursday 14 February 2019, 5.00pm (GMT). How to register your attendance and book your ticket If you wish to attend your graduation ceremony you must register your attendance by Thursday 14 February 2019, 5.00pm (GMT). Please note there is no charge to graduates for registering their tickets. When logging into the graduation system, you will be asked for your student ID and date of birth. Please ensure you include the ‘K’ (for Kingston University awards) or ‘M’ (for St George’s, University of London awards) at the beginning of your student ID number. If you have not confirmed your attendance by the above date we will assume you are not attending. There are no exceptions. Guest tickets Once you have booked your graduate ticket, guest tickets must be purchased directly from the venue (Royal Festival Hall/Southbank Centre) online (or by telephone or in person) by Thursday 14 February 2019 at 5.00pm. Details of how to book guest tickets will be included in your graduate ticket confirmation email. Please note that there are no free tickets for guests, including children (with the exception of children under the age of two). Guest tickets will be available at a charge of £25.00 each and graduates may purchase a maximum of two tickets initially to ensure that all graduates have equal opportunity to have guests in the audience. Purchasing more than two tickets in this initial period is strictly prohibited. Additional guest tickets will be released for sale from Tuesday 19 February 2019. Please note that additional tickets purchased will not be sat with other guests. Children If you intend to bring children to the ceremony please note the following: Children over the age of two must sit in an allocated seat for the duration of the ceremony. This means that tickets for children over the age of two will need to be purchased at £25. Children aged two and under can be seated on a parent/guardian’s lap Fire regulations do not permit buggies or prams to be brought into the auditorium under any circumstances The ceremony is fairly long (approximately 90-120 minutes). We would advise that it is unsuitable for children under the age of five years. Guests may be asked to take restless children out of the auditorium by a member of staff. If this occurs there are plasma screens outside the auditorium to enable guests to continue viewing the ceremony Children of any age are not permitted to accompany a graduate on stage. Ticket collection Before the ceremony, please visit the main registration desk on level 1 to collect your graduate ticket/name card. You can find the recommended arrival time for your ceremony on our Planning your Day page. You will need the ticket/name card to be presented on stage. Please keep this with you at all times. When purchasing guest tickets, there are options for how to receive the tickets. Refunds We regret that it is not possible to get a refund from the Royal Festival Hall for guest tickets. The University cannot be held liable for any costs incurred for travel or accommodation arrangements made by graduates or guests under any circumstances.
