Breast screening, diagnosis and care

Within my career, I’ve been fortunate to be able to specialise in the areas I find most interesting. Breast screening is an area I’m passionate about; and I’m always pleased to receive positive feedback from students on our courses. The programmes we run here at Kingston and St George’s are innovative – we were the first place in the country to offer foundation degree in breast imaging for assistant practitioners – and they’re supportive.

Our degrees are aimed at a national audience; we have a student body that comes from all over the UK so we do have to put in place a robust form of constant contact. Once the students are back in their workplace, we make sure they feel they can get in touch with us at any time, that we are always at the end of the phone, and we will always respond to their emails promptly. We offer them a five day turnaround of any draft work they want to send in, that the team will always feedback on and ensure they’re on track. Even if students aren’t full time, we ensure we have a close relationship with them via email or phone.
