ECGs for healthcare assistants Apply Study day: ECGs for healthcare assistants Recording an accurate 12 Lead ECG Participants will be able to: Develop their knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the heart Understand the role of the conduction system in the cardiac cycle Take a radial pulse and recognise an abnormal pulse Develop an awareness of the principles of electrocardiography Record a 12 lead ECG accurately and learn how to troubleshoot Use a tool to systematically analyse cardiac rhythms Identify normal sinus rhythm and abnormal heart rhythm Understand the importance of the ECG in diagnosing patients with chest pain Participants will be given a competency framework to complete with their nurse mentor. Please come dressed suitable for a clinical skills workshop, hair tied back, short nails, no nail varnish or jewellery, closed shoes. Who is this study day for?
