Dear colleague,
Welcome to the January issue of CPPD: What's New - outlining the latest news, courses and services offered by the Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences. Happy New Year to all our students and colleagues.
We have now our new CPPD prospectus 2012 and we will be sending out hard copies in the coming weeks.
The New Year is an ideal time to revisit career goals and if you've been putting off returning to study then 2012 is your chance to take your career in a new direction. Why not come along to our postgraduate open evening on 8 February 2012 to find out the options available and discover how postgraduate study can benefit you.
We look forward to seeing you at the Faculty in the weeks ahead.
Best wishes,

Faculty named preferred bidder for adult nursing and physiotherapy
NHS London has announced that the Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences has been selected as a preferred bidder to provide training programmes for adult nurses and physiotherapists. This is extremely good news for the Faculty and means we are poised to play a significant role in healthcare education in the capital.
The decision is a tremendous endorsement of the quality of our programmes and our contribution to educating a highly-skilled workforce to meet the ever-changing needs of the healthcare sector.
At a time when nursing has come under increasing public scrutiny, it is encouraging to know that our high standards of teaching and patient-centred approach to education have been recognised in this way.
The Faculty was required to provide strong evidence of the quality of its training programmes during the tender process. Our positive relationships with partner NHS Trusts, track record in innovation and strong performance in employability and the National Student Survey all played an important part in the outcome. We are grateful to our NHS partners and our students for their contribution to the success.
The team, led by Dean Professor Fiona Ross, is now finalising the three-year contracts with NHS London.
