Faculty funded PhD studentship: Exploring the meaning of dignity in healthcare across the lifespan

The Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education invites applications from suitably qualified students for a three-year full-time PhD studentships, starting in October 2011.

The focus of this studentship is to explore the meaning of dignity for a range of health service users including children, adolescents and adults. It will explore what the key features of dignity are for service users across the lifespan.

Funding

The funding provided will cover stipend plus fees (full-time tuition fees at Home/EU level and a stipend at UK Research Council rates (£15,590pa) for a period of up to three years).

Students paying overseas fees may apply for the studentship, however, you should note that the funding only covers the fees at home/EU level. If you are required to pay overseas fees you must be able to demonstrate how you would pay the difference between the home/EU fees and the overseas student fee.

Eligibility

Applicants should hold a nursing qualification and a minimum of UK honours degree at 2:1 level or equivalent, though preference will be given to applicants who hold a masters degree. Only full-time candidates will be considered due to funding constraints.
