Guardian university league table 2014

GradutationThe 2014 Guardian university league table was published on 4 June. In the subject rankings Kingston remains a strong performer in Education (ranked 6) and Art and Design (11).

Other strong performers at the University include Nursing and Paramedical Studies (ranked 15, up from 27 last year); Social Work, (ranked 22, up from 30 last year); Drama and Dance (now 41, up from 53 last year); and Sports Science (24, down from 10 last year).

Much of the data used to compile this league table predates the University’s Led by Learning strategy. While the strategy is not designed to make the University a slave to league tables, in time, the strategy will address a number of issues which should have a positive impact on the metrics that are used to create league tables.

The measure which appears to have had the greatest impact on Kingston’s ranking is the ‘value added’ category which is a measure of predicted degree outcomes compared with entry grades.
