The handbook outlines policies, procedures and processes which enable mentors and practice teachers to sucessfully support students in their practice learning experience. - Weekly student supervision and feedback sheet (PDF 253K)

A copy of this completed form is to be kept by both the student for their portfolio and the mentor for audit purposes and for student progression records.
NMC guidance and standards

NMC Standards to support learning and assessment in practice (updated July 2008) (PDF 338K)

Developed for mentors, practice teachers and teachers, these standards support mentors in ensuring all learners are fit for purpose upon point of registration. Roles and responsibilities of the mentor and the sign-off mentor are included for any learner undertaking an NMC recognised qualification leading to registration on the NMC register.
Mentor update
- Mentor passport (to support triennial review)
To maintain mentor/sign-off mentor status, the NMC requires a record of all training and development should be kept and made available for triennial review. The mentor passport is evidence of the mentor/sign-off mentor developing their knowledge, skills and competence beyond registration and maintaining their professional competencies required with their area of practice
