Observing changes in perceived levels of health related quality of life following attendance of the Healing Journey Programme for patients living with cancer
Presented by Lorraine Catwell, PhD student
Background: Self-management programmes that empower participants to manage their condition should lead to improvements in the management of chronic health conditions and participants’ quality of life.
Research aims: To observe changes in how well participants think they are managing their condition and their perceived levels of health related quality of life (HRQoL) following attendance of the Healing Journey Programme.
Method: Self-report questionnaire administered prior to the start, and on completion, of the Healing Journey Programme.
Expected results: Following attendance of the Healing Journey Programme, participants will report improvements in (i) how well they think they are managing their condition (ii) perceived levels of HRQoL.
