Read all about us! Latest Faculty annual report published

As a leading provider of health and social care education, we are proud to be playing a pivotal role in shaping London's future workforce.

By valuing the individual student and supporting their learning needs, we believe we can inspire them to contribute to a high quality service for people in London.

This last year has been very successful. Selected highlights from our latest annual report include:

  • Our courses have achieved excellent quality ratings, for example radiography is top in London and our social work courses are leading in London and Surrey.
  • We had excellent results in the last Research Assessment Exercise, putting us in the top 10 universities nationally for the proportion of international and world class research.
  • We are the only university in London to be awarded a National Institute of Health research grant to run a Master of Research (MRes) in Clinical Practice, as part of an ambitious government programme to modernise clinical and academic careers.
  • Our Centre for Paramedic Science’s pioneering e-learning project, which uses online virtual world 'Second Life' to train paramedics, won the Times Higher Education award for Outstanding ICT Initiative of the Year.
  • The School of Rehabilitation’s Dr Fiona Jones received a number of awards for her work on self-management after stroke, including from The Stroke Association and the Health Service Journal.
  • We have been selected by the Royal Marsden Hospital’s School of Nursing and Rehabilitation to provide services for their cancer education programmes for nurses and allied health professionals.
  • Internationally, we are working with a number of organisations to promote cross-cultural knowledge sharing. Partners include the Gibraltar Health Authority, the Royal College of Midwives in Macedonia and the Medical Research Council in The Gambia. Thanks to our strong reputation in workforce and primary care nursing research, we have been commissioned to evaluate community nursing services in Hong Kong.
