Funded PhD studentships available from Kingston University

Note: The 2011/12 studentship competition has now closed. Applicants will be informed of their result by 31 July 2011. If you haven't received a response by this date please email GRStudentships@kingston.ac.uk

The competition for these prestigious research studentships is open to students who wish to study for a full-time PhD at Kingston University.

Tuition fees will be paid at Home/EU level only. International students may apply but will be required to provide evidence as to how the remaining part of their fees will be paid.

The Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences invites applications from suitably qualified students interested in research in the following subject areas:

  • Health exercise and rehabilitation
  • Long term conditions

Health, exercise and rehabilitation

Investigation of the effectiveness of exercise in cancer care

Goal setting for management of progressive neurological conditions

Respiratory muscle training in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Improving post-operative outcome of people who have undergone joint replacement surgery

Long term conditions

Carer participation in goal planning in stroke rehabilitation

Development and testing of a shorter measure of quality of life in older age, appropriate for use in ethnically diverse populations

Investigating issues in medicine management for people with dementia living at home alone supported by health and social services

Volunteer mentoring schemes for carers: the impact on volunteers and on family carers

How to apply, funding and eligibility
