Children and Families Research Group
The Children and Families Research Group undertakes health and social care research at local, national and international level that directly informs policy and practice to support children and their families.
Our work is concerned with issues raised in governmental policies such as Every Child Matters, the Children Act 2004 and the National Service Framework for Children, Young People and Maternity Services published by the Department of Health in 2004. These policy documents set out the terms for major reform and improvement of health and social care services for children and families in England. More recent developments such as the Social Work Reform Board and the publication of the Munro Review of Child Protection (May 2011) will equally have a significant impact on policy, planning and service provision in this area.
