Factors affecting the management of post-operative pain in children (2008-2011)
Description: PhD scholarship: an ethnographic study looking at the factors that affect the management of post-operative pain in children.

Midwives in teaching (MINT) project (2009-2010)
Description: A UK-wide study to evaluate whether midwife teachers bring a unique contribution, particularly in the context of outcomes for women and their families. This required the research team to investigate the aspects of the midwife lecturer’s practice role that facilitated student learning and where it could be improved.
Researchers: Dr Val Collington. Hub and spoke model used with Nottingham University as the hub. Collaborating universities - Kingston/St Georges, Plymouth, Robert Gordon, Glamorgan, Queens, Belfast (each case study site had a collaborative Lead and a collaborative ste researcher).

Description: A qualitative study exploring cultural capital and work experiences of migrant/refugee medical doctors, nurses and social workers.

Description: International intervention programme on fathers with a history of domestic abuse, led by Dr Katreena Scott, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto.

An evaluation of a national programme of GP pilot workshops on carers (2002-2010)
Description: A study of the impact of six England-wide workshops for GPs and other primary care workers to improve awareness of the needs of informal carers and the services they receive. The workshops are being delivered through the Royal College of General Practitioners.
