Research and public engagement

Research and public engagement

Two key strengths of Kingston and St George’s and how it continues to make impact in the world we live, are our research and our expertise in patient and public engagement.

We are very proud that in the 2014 HEFCE Research Excellence Framework, 74 per cent of our Faculty’s research was judged as world leading or internationally excellent (4* and 3*), and the remainder as internationally significant. Our parent universities ranked as 4th (St George’s University of London) and 75th (Kingston University) out of 128 in global research impact. We look forward to sharing with you our passion for making a lasting difference to the health, social care and education provision of service users and patients, whether through our research degrees or specialist expertise.

Likewise, we continue to build on a long tradition of excellent public engagement work in our Faculty and invite you to read more about our work within the Centre for Public Engagement.  Putting patients and public at the heart of services is a cornerstone of Government health and social care policy. From education to the commissioning of services and decisions about care, the involvement of patients, public, service users and carers is required to enhance the quality of services and decision making.
