Biography

Dhrushita gained a BSc in Management Science and Computer Science, but subsquently found work in the third sector with older people and carers to be more engaging and thought provoking.

Through this work, Dhrushita developed an interest in social research and social gerontology and so returned to education to undertake an MRes in Social Science Research Methods. As part of this degree programme she undertook a research project entitled ‘Filial piety: changes across generations and continents’, which explored the perceptions of three generations of East African Asians whose families had migrated to England at different times.

Dhrushita is currently working on a National Institute for Health Research funded project investigating the effectiveness of interprofessional working for community dwelling older people with complex problems (TOPIC).
