Biography

Gill is a qualified physiotherapist and has worked in a research capacity in the Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences for the past three years specialising in respiratory care. Gill is currently coordinating a project funded by the British Lung Foundation looking at restoring activity post surgery for patients undergoing curative surgery for non-small cell lung cancer. Gill coordinates the recruitment of patients for the study and manages ethical and research governance for the project. Gill is also studying for a postgraduate certificate in research skills.

Gill is an administrator for the journal Physiotherapy Research International and is a member of the Respiratory Speciality Group for London South Comprehensive Local Research Network and the St George's Respiratory Research Network. She works with others in her field to apply for funding for research to improve rehabilitation care for patients with lung cancer with an aim to change current clinical practice.
