Biography

Julia is a Head of School and a member of the Senior Faculty Management Group. She manages 28 staff and the operation of the Division of Mental Health and Learning Disability in relation to budgets, resources, communication and new developments. 

Julia provides cross-functional leadership and communication across the School of Nursing and Paramedic matrix for a total of 100 staff.  She interfaces with the NHS, Trusts, NHS London, National Professional Bodies and the national picture for nursing in relation to targets, quality monitoring, contract negotiations and new developments. She has strategic lead for continuing professional education for nursing and multi professional education. Julia has a strategic lead for central Faculty-wide staff continuing professional development and is currently undertaking an audit of staff continuing professional development activities and needs. 

In 2006 Julia implemented on line learning within the Faculty’s continuing professional development programmes. She is involved in a number of e-learning projects to enhance the student experience and an evaluative project that seeks to understand students’ and academics’ experience of e learning. She is a Board Member of IVINURS an international collaborative partnership, which provides global educational solutions to local healthcare needs and a rapidly evolving twenty-first century learning environment. She also provides strategic international leadership for the School of Nursing.

In 2007 Julia provided strategic leadership for the School of Nursing through membership with NIDEAL, an international online assessment consortium that enables a global collaborative partnership to produce quality assessment items for robust and quality healthcare education programmes.
