Biography
Julie initially qualified as a nurse, then went on to qualify as a midwife, and has spent the majority of her career in midwifery practice having worked as a staff midwife and midwifery sister. She is currently a senior lecturer in midwifery and teaches undergraduate student midwives, student nurses, and qualified practitioners on postgraduate courses and study days.
Julie is also interested in research and research methods and is currently undertaking a PhD, which aims to investigate the best method for auscultation of the fetal heart.
Interests
Julie has a particular interest in the physiology of pregnancy, normal childbirth and the assessment of fetal wellbeing during labour. She is a member of the Royal College of Midwives.
