Biography
Dr Maria Psoinos is a social psychologist. She holds a PhD in social psychology and an MPhil in social and developmental psychology, both from the University of Cambridge, and a BSc in psychology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Her expertise is in the psychosocial impact of migration and in qualitative methodologies.
Before joining the Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences, Maria worked as a research and teaching assistant at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Cambridge and at the Division of Psychology and Special Needs Education at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki. She has extensive research experience, having worked in international and transdisciplinary contexts.
Maria is currently teaching research methodology related courses at postgraduate and undergraduate levels.
Interests
Migration and psychosocial well-being; ethnic disparities in health and social care; interprofessional health and social care research and practice; qualitative methodologies; participatory research.
