Biography

Gary is currently establishing the Faculty's Centre for Public Engagement, the aim of which is to become a hub of expertise in service user involvement within education, research, health and social care, and service development.

He attained a first degree in Public Administration and a PhD in Health Studies. His expertise is in ensuring that research translates into policy and action.

Gary has gained over a decade of experience working in health and social care research, including service user involvement, within a university setting, and over a decade's experience working in research and project management within public sector organisations, both in the UK and overseas, on ethics and corruption.

Research interests

Key research interests include service user involvement in education, research, health and social care and service development. Additional interests include ethics and corruption in the public sector.

Consultancy

Gary works as a consultant for the Council of Europe providing advice and guidance on a project to consolidate ethics in the public sector in Turkey. He also has a consultant's position with Transparency International.
