Dr Stefan Tino Kulnik

School: Centre for Health and Social Care Research

Job Title: Researcher

Tino joined Kingston and St George's as a postdoctoral researcher in 2016. He contributes to Professor Fiona Jones' programme of research in rehabilitation for people who had a stroke, and self-management for people with different long-term conditions. In another role, Tino also contributes to Bridges Self-Management Limited, a social enterprise based at Kingston and St George's that developed from Professor Jones' research in stroke self-management.

Tino qualified as a physiotherapist in Vienna and worked in Germany, the United States and London, in neurology, respiratory care, senior health and rehabilitation. Pursuing his interest in research, Tino completed a masters in clinical practice at Kingston and St George's and a PhD in clinical neuroscience at King's College London.

Tino's research interests are varied and include current rehabilitation practice, the lived experience of disability, self-management for people who are living with long-term conditions, and the measurement and treatment of cough. Tino has a particular interest in applied clinical research, and multi-disciplinary collaboration and service user involvement in research.

Tino is a reviewer for Disability and Rehabilitation, Neurology and other journals. He is proud to maintain a link with his undergraduate training institution, FH Campus Vienna, where he is a guest lecturer in research methods and evidence-based practice.
