Jane teaches aspects of leadership and management to undergraduate and postgraduate nurses, doctors and allied healthcare professionals.

Her clinical background is in neuroscience nursing. She has worked in various roles in acute neuro-medicine and neuro-rehabilitation, was a clinical nurse specialist in stroke and subsequently a community stroke rehabilitation team leader.

Jane also has many years' experience running her own business abroad and has a continued interest in entrepreneurship and innovation, which she incorporates throughout her teaching.

Having joined Kingston and St George's in 2012, Jane currently holds the role of senior lecturer and is leader of the Leadership in Practice module and two postgraduate Management modules. Jane also acts as a link lecturer for Croydon Healthcare NHS Trust, monitoring and evaluating the quality of student clinical placements.

She is a member of the editorial board of the British Journal of Neuroscience Nursing and regularly reviews articles for publication in this capacity.

Jane's professional interests lie in exploring creative teaching methods, focusing on principles of active learning to promote students' personal growth and leadership development. Projects currently under development include evaluation of the use of debates and learning enhancement groups in practice.
