Biography

Keith joined Kingston & St George's in 2010 as principal lecturer and course director for the BA (Hons) Social Work programme.

He trained as a social worker at the London School of Economics and subsequently worked for thirteen years as a probation officer and practice educator in London before joining the University of Hertfordshire's criminal justice team in 2001. He has taught criminal justice practice, ethics, penal studies, social policy and research methods at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

In 2009 Keith completed a Masters in Research in Law with distinction at the University of London's Birkbeck College, and has published in the areas of professional training in probation, the development of probation in the Russian Federation and the effects of performance management regimes on criminal justice practice.

Keith has acted as a trainer in diversity to Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Prisons and trained probation staff in the Russian Federation since 2006. He is currently a member of the editorial board of the European Journal of Probation.
