Biography

Kevin is a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health, a Dialectical Behaviour Therapist and a Compliance Inspector for the Care Quality Commission. He is an experienced clinician, manager and educator in mental health care, with nearly thirty years' experience working with clients and their families and in planning, co-ordinating and delivering teaching, training and practice development programmes for universities, the independent sector and NHS trusts.

He is author of Mental Health Nursing (2009) (Lippincott Williams & Wilkins); contributor to Ethics, Law and Professional Issues (2012) (Palgrave Macmillan) and reviewer for the Nursing Ethics journal (Sage).

Kevin qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in 1988. Subsequently, he worked as a Community Psychiatric Nurse, Group Leader on Surrey Probation Service's Sex Offender Treatment Programme, Lecturer-Practitioner, Practice Development Facilitator in Acute Care, Acute Care Lead for CSIP, Dialectical Behaviour Therapist for Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust and as Branch Leader for the mental health team at Surrey University.
