Job Title: Senior Lecturer
As 'employment-based route' co-ordinator, Carol is course leader for students sponsored by their employer to undertake qualifying social work programmes.
She is also module leader on the masters-level Practice Teachers' Programme, and is responsible for quality assurance of practice placements across the BA (Hons) and MSW social work programmes.
Carol contributes to teaching to prepare students for placements, ensuring that they are able to meet the requirements of the National Occupational Standards of Social Work and the GSCC Codes of Practice.
She has previously taught on sociology and addictive behaviour, and delivered training to professionals in drug use and parenting issues. She has undertaken research in child protection issues for drugs agency workers, on working with parents who use drugs, and on the practice placement experience of employment-based route students.
