Biography

Georgina qualified as a nurse in 1984 and then undertook the 18 month midwifery training at Kingston hospital, qualifying in 1986. She worked as a midwife in the hospital until 1989 when she became a community midwifery sister at St Helier Hospital.

In 1991 Georgina was appointed to the Practice Development Midwife post where she remained until 2000 when she became the manager for the delivery suite and maternity ward at St Helier. Georgina was appointed a Supervisor of midwives (SoM) in 1994 by the Local Supervising Authority for London.

In April 2004 Georgina joined the Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences are after completing her MSc in Midwifery. In September 2010 Georgina was promoted to principal lecturer and remains a SoM.
