Biography

Georgina joined Kingston & St George's in 2004 after completing her MSc in midwifery. She initially qualified as a nurse in 1984 and then undertook midwifery training at Kingston Hospital, qualifying in 1986. She continued to work as a midwife in the hospital until 1989, when she became a community midwifery sister at St Helier Hospital. There, she later progressed into roles as practice development midwife and manager of the delivery suite and maternity ward. Georgina was appointed as a supervisor of midwives in 1994 by the Local Supervising Authority of London, a role which she currently maintains.

Georgina leads the modules Midwifery And Complicated Childbearing and Interprofessional Management And Debates. She is the course leader for the NMC-approved Preparation Of Supervisor Of Midwives programme and the lead midwife for the Return To Practice and Adaptation To Midwifery programmes.

She is also a liaison lecturer at St George's Hospital maternity unit and works regularly as a bank midwife at St Helier Hospital.
