Susan is a senior lecturer, visiting professor and a registered adult nurse with a wide range of experience in both senior strategic academic management and operational academic roles in higher education including: undergraduate pre-registration nursing programmes, postgraduate masters (advanced practice), work based learning, major emergencies and multi-professional programmes.

Susan's current role involves curriculum design, teaching and assessing, developing professional practice modules for qualified healthcare practitioners.

Susan's academic and teaching interests include professional and inter-professional education and research methods.

Susan is also the academic lead for practice learning across the south zone.

This provides academic direction and support for both students and their practice mentors as well as to academic staff, across a range of practice environments, such as The Royal Marsden Hospitals, NHS Acute Trusts, as well as community, private and independent sector student placements.

Susan's research interests are in professional and inter-professional healthcare education. Externally Susan is an academic reviewer for the Journal of Inter-Professional Care.

Susan is visiting professor and international lead with Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan. Susan has worked collaboratively to develop and lead a collaborative working agreement between the universities, which include both research and staff and student exchange programmes, with a multi-professional focus.
