Job Title: Senior Lecturer in Community Nursing Practice
Over the past three decades Shaun has undertaken educational and registered qualifications within acute and non-acute clinical settings. They have all been incorporated in his clinical practice as well as his teaching practice with both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Shaun has had a diverse exposure to nursing a variety of patients including sick children, adults and service users with mental health conditions with his professional qualifications as a registered general nurse, registered sick children's nurse, registered mental health nurse and as a specialist community public health nurse in the field of health visiting. All of which has prepared Shaun to be fit for practice and purpose.
Shaun's senior clinical roles are varied. They include medical nursing, being a health consultant for the States of Jersey Prison Service, a health advisor, a centre manager for young adults with learning disabilities, a senior nurse within a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, a charge nurse (Sick Children's Unit, as a clinical research nurse - sexual health), a clinical nurse specialist (Community HIV), nurse advisor with NHS Direct, area manager/clinical governance lead (elderly care) as a forensic nurse practitioner (Sussex Police Custody Units) and a clinical quality manager for NHS High Weald Lewes Havens Clinical Commissioning Group.
