UCAS statement for students applying for undergraduate adult nursing and physiotherapy courses starting in September 2012

NHS London (the organisation that funds adult nursing and physiotherapy courses for London) is currently running a process to confirm which Universities will be offering adult nursing and physiotherapy courses for students from September 2012. NHS London is doing this to ensure that you receive the highest quality education and you are well prepared to enter the NHS workforce once qualified.

Universities are advertising these courses on the UCAS website as normal and you are being advised to submit applications by the 15 January 2012 in line with the UCAS timetable. Universities will know the outcome of the NHS London process by the end of January 2012 at which time they will know how many places will be available for autumn 2012.

The majority of student applications are likely to be unaffected by this process. However, if a course you have selected will not be running in Sept 2012 you will be given the opportunity to substitute to an alternative course choice. The application process will then continue in line with the UCAS cycle. If you have already been offered a deferred place for September 2012 you will either be offered an alternative place in late January 2012 or have the opportunity to substitute to an alternative choice.
