Dr Jayne Price commended by Prince Harry at the WellChild Awards

Jayne PriceDr Jayne Price, associate professor, Children’s Nursing was presented to Prince Harry at the Well Child Awards at the Hilton at Park Lane in September.

Well Child is a national charity for seriously ill children and their families. Its annual awards ceremony celebrates the courage of children and young people living with complex health conditions and honours the dedicated professionals who care for them and their families. Prince Harry is the charity’s patron and Jayne had nominated the winners of the team award. She also appeared in a filmed segment shown to 500 guests, including the prince.

“I nominated the team at the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice who won the team award,” said Jayne. “A collaborative funded research study I worked on with Hospice involved interviews with parents and highlighted a new and innovative aspect of practice which made tremendous improvements in the lives of children and families who experienced protracted discharge from hospital because of their technological needs. The team and I were presented to Prince Harry prior to the ceremony and he asked about the study and commended me for the nomination.”
