‘Nursing’s Got Talent’, an event put together by Kingston and St George’s nursing staff and students, was held recently to celebrate International Nurse’s Day on 12th May, which marks Florence Nightingale’s birthday.

The event, held at the Rose Theatre in Kingston, featured live performances of art, music and poetry readings. Readings, a discussion on ‘nurses in fiction’, and a mental health simulation were performed by nursing students, staff and role players.

Head of the School of Nursing, Julia Gale said organising the event involved talent from “across nursing generations”. The committee featured current students and teaching staff.

Nikki Yun, President of the Kingston University Nursing Society, paid tribute to the impacts of the profession.

“We wanted people to recognise that nurses across the world give support and make a positive difference every day,” she said.

“It’s important that they are celebrated for all their hard work.”
