Nursing Standard publishes nursing student’s ‘real world’ experiences.

James KermanSecond year adult nursing student James Kerman recently had his reflective article entitled ‘Starting out – An expert patient’s guidance boosted my clinical confidence’ published in Nursing Standard.  When asked what his motivation behind the writing the article was, James said, “I really wanted to share a positive outcome with people. Nursing has taken a lot of criticism in the wider media recently and whilst there are areas in which our profession can improve, there are so many everyday successes that go untold. I’ve been inspired by so many people on my journey, many of them have been patients that I’ve cared for on placement or staff who have mentored me and each one has changed the way I practice for the better. The facilities at Kingston and St George’s are fantastic which really makes studying here a great experience.  I’ve learned so much already, both from my peers and from my lecturers. I’d just like to thank everyone at Kingston and St George’s for their support.”
