With a background in the sociology of sport, Dr Simon Fletcher has developed a wide theoretical and methodological knowledge base.

Having undertaken a masters degree in sport, culture and society at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Simon was compelled to develop this training in a doctoral context. His recently completed PhD thesis explored the issue of touching practice amongst physical education teachers and called upon post-structural and late modern social theory in addition to creative forms of methodological representation.

Simon's current research interests include: The notion of professional identity in adverse social conditions; Interprofessional collaboration and education; Ethnographic research methods; Fictional representation.
