Sally has been actively involved in patient representation for many years, including membership of Community Health Councils, Patient and Public Involvement Forums and Local Involvement Networks (LINks). She was a member of the NHS Constitutional Advisory Forum, the Organ Donation Taskforce and the NHS Future Forum. Sally chaired the Prime Minister's Nursing and Care Quality Forum from January 2013 to December 2014. Currently Sally is Lay Member for PPI and Quality at NHS Sutton Clinical Commissioning Group. Sally trained as a physiotherapist in Manchester in the 1970s and completed a BSc in Nursing Studies at King's College London in 1988. She has an MA in Social Anthropology from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Sally leads the patient and public involvement element of several research projects in the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education.
